[FIRST NAME GOES HERE] - here's a better New Year's resolution approach...

I’ve done the whole “New Year, New Me” thing before.

It took me years to learn that pursuing new habits and behaviors and ways of doing and being with intensity only led me to failure.

And it took me plenty more years of practice to realize that consistency was the answer.

That, and:

  • Doing it for the right reasons
  • Cultivating a growth mindset
  • Building sustainable habits
  • Facing daily challenges & discomforts
  • Focusing on strength & longevity
  • Practicing mindfulness and intention
  • Giving myself kindness and compassion
  • Healing wounded parts of myself
  • Showing up imperfectly

And all together, creating a healthy, active lifestyle I can actually keep for the rest of my life.

One where I feel strong and confident and proud.

One where I always keep going and always keep trying to be better, even through different stages of life, and different ups and downs.

As you navigate all of the feelings and messages of the New Year, I encourage you to evaluate:

  1. What ideas or principles (like my bullet points above) are guiding any resolutions or goals or habits you may be adopting in the coming days?
  2. Will those things help you become the person that you want to be?
  3. What would it look like to actually enjoy it?
  4. What would it look like to pursue a version of this thing that you could actually keep?
  5. What are the things you need to stay consistent to actually keep showing up?

Answer these questions and you’ll find a version of a New Year’s resolution or challenge or intention that will be aligned with you, and will help you become a better you — for good.

Because what’s the point of starting something with intensity for the sake of the New Year if it isn’t going to last?

See you next week,

💕 Morgan
